Partner disclosure · Alice Blue

How we earn, and why that should make you read more carefully, not less.

Everything on this site is free. Our only income is a share of brokerage that Alice Blue earns from people who open an account through our link. You should know that before you read a single word of our guides.

You do not need to open anything to use this site. No account, no signup, no email. If you never click the partner link, nothing here changes.

We are not
a SEBI-registered Investment Adviser or Research Analyst
It costs you nothing extra
You pay Alice Blue's standard published charges whether you come through us or not.
It is ongoing, not one-off
We receive a share of brokerage on trades, not a single sign-up fee. More trading means more for us.
Which is why we say this
Frequent trading is how most retail investors lose money. Our incentive and your interest can diverge here.
No content is sponsored
Alice Blue does not see, review or pay for anything we publish.

Do you actually need a demat account?

Often, no. If all you want is mutual funds, you can invest directly through the AMC or an RTA platform without any broker at all — and pay no brokerage.

You need one to hold shares, ETFs, bonds or sovereign gold bonds in your own name.

You probably need one

To buy individual shares or ETFs · to hold sovereign gold bonds · to apply for IPOs · to hold securities in your own name

You probably don’t

If you only want mutual funds · if you are still building an emergency fund · if you have high-interest debt to clear first

Compare at least two brokers before you choose. Charges, platform quality and support differ, and we are not in a position to tell you Alice Blue is the best fit for you — we are paid by them.

What it costs
Alice Blue sets and publishes these, not us. Check their charges page before opening.

What you will need
KYC happens on Alice Blue’s site, not here. We never see your documents.
  1. 1 PAN card — Must match your name exactly as on the bank account.
  2. 2 Aadhaar linked to your mobile — The OTP-based e-sign will not work otherwise.
  3. 3 A cancelled cheque or bank statement — For the account you will settle funds through.
  4. 4 A signature on white paper — Plus a live selfie for in-person verification.
  5. 5 Income proof — Only if you intend to trade derivatives.
Paid partner link · we receive a share of brokerage

If you have read the above and still want to go ahead

This opens Alice Blue’s own eKYC with our partner code attached. Everything from that point — your documents, your money, your account — is between you and Alice Blue.

If something goes wrong

Complaints about your broking account do not come to us — we cannot access, move or close it. They follow the regulated escalation path.
