Introduction: The Return of Moneychains

A few years ago, the government of India banned the operation of Moneychains and similar Ponzi schemes after realizing the impact they had had on the common man’s life. However, a few years down the line, in 2022, there are hundreds of money chains operating in our country in disguise of MLM and Direct Selling. If you are a devotee of an MLM company and attended their motivational classes, chances are, you are absolutely going to disagree with me as the brainwashing you went through was immense!

My Experience with MLM in 2025

It was in 2025 that I was introduced to an MLM and had the opportunity to understand their modus operandi from close quarters. It all started when I received a call from a friend whom I had met some 15 years back when we were in elementary school. He showed up at my home along with his bosses and they really had a tough time answering all my questions. Though I refused to join their company, they were adamant and wanted me to go along with them just to understand their way of working.

I decided to give it a go! In a few days, I gave up after fully understanding the business model involved. Their motivational classes were ridiculous and unbearable.

So, What was Moneychains?

mutual funds or etfs

The money chain was a Pyramid scheme where no products were involved. In order to join this scheme one has to pay a certain amount of money stipulated by the company. Once you are in, the next job is to convince your friends and family members and bring them in.

How Moneychains Operated

In order to be eligible to receive a commission, you should bring in a minimum of two people – One on the right side and One on the left side. Then it is their turn to earn commission by continuing the same process.

Now your work is over and whenever there are people joining on either side of your imaginary tree, you are entitled to a commission, literally, without having to do any job!

The Fallout of Moneychains

This scheme attracted many and people invested and lost a lot of money. Because only the people on the top will earn a lot of money leaving the next levels in dilemma.

What about MLM?

When it comes to MLM, it is a loophole invented to trick the system. As the government had banned the money chain they made it clear that if Products and services are available, then we can’t call it Money Chains!

Popular MLMs and Their Practices

Popular MLMs such as Amway and Phygicart follow Pyramid Schemes. In order to be eligible to earn a commission, one must make a purchase with them. You will only get some unnecessary stuff at a very high price. You will be paying nearly 5x – 10x the original price to get into the system.

The Real Job in MLMs

The Benefits of Starting a Business by Solving a Problem

Once you are in, your job is to convince your friends and family to join this company by motivating them. You will learn how to motivate people from their regular classes.

The Major Question: Why Do MLMs Fail to Meet Needs?

My question is…Why the hell these companies don’t sell the products that people actually need? Why don’t they spend their time, money, and effort in improving their products rather than accumulating unnecessary manpower? The simple answer is, that MLMs are money chains in the guise of direct selling.

They are nothing short of any Ponzi schemes. My suggestion is better to stay away from them at any cost.

Final Thoughts

Making money is not that easy. Only the skillsets you possess will help you out in achieving your dreams, not these companies like phygicart!
